Maintenance and repair

The team of EMS Shipmanagement has extensive experience in technical and nautical management as well as in maintenance and repair of vessels. Thanks to our long-standing relationships with trusted suppliers, we are able to procure all spare parts, even for older vessels. We also take care of lifecycle management.

Yard times

From the Baltic States to Turkey, our professionals are familiar with shipyards throughout Europe. This puts us in a perfect position to select and book the shipyards that best suit the occasion and your vessel. Our inspectors have first-hand experience of being at sea and know exactly what it takes to get your ship back on the water as quickly as possible. They will ensure that the quality of the shipyard's work is high and that cost and time budgets, as well as classification society requirements, are met.

Crew management

As part of the EMS Group, we have direct access to the network of the crewing experts at EMS Crewing. We are therefore able to select the best seafarers for your needs. The crews of EMS Shipmanagement are regularly trained and we ensure that all crew members have the internationally required education and training certificates.

Insurance and claims settlements

At EMS Shipmanagement, we make sure that your vessels have tailor-made insurance protection. In the event of a claim, we coordinate all parties involved, represent your interests and prepare everything necessary for a quick settlement. We document damages thoroughly and in accordance with regulations, look after the vessel and crew, and arrange for crew changes if necessary. In addition, we organize and monitor the payment of claims.

Budgetary control and accounting

As part of our services, EMS Shipmanagement also takes care of budget control, liquidity planning and accounting. We keep detailed records of all transactions and prepare financial statements in close cooperation with your tax advisor. EMS Shipmanagement values transparency and helps you to increase your financial efficiency.

Quality and safety management/ISPS

EMS Shipmanagement ensures that your vessels are certified according to ISM, ISPS and MLC. As part of this, we handle the documentation and prepare all necessary manuals. In addition, we organize and accompany the audits/inspections of the classification societies and flag states.

Flag service

At EMS Shipmanagement, we can assist you in all matters relating to the flag of your vessel. We can advise you on which flag is best suited for your purposes, obtain all necessary certificates and change a ship's registry according to your requirements. EMS Shipmanagement works with a variety of flag states and has a special focus on the flags of Antigua & Barbuda and Latvia. Our relationship with the Latvian flag is particularly strong: EMS Shipmanagement has been nominated as a non-exclusive point of contact for the flag in Germany. We also offer to establish and manage bareboat companies in Latvia for our customers.

The Latvian flag is white-listed by the International Maritime Organization, cost-effective and allows cabotage operations within the EU. At the same time, the Maritime Administration of Latvia provides fast and uncomplicated services to registered vessels. This includes organizing and conducting ISPS, ISM and MLC inspections.

Provisions

Providing our crews with healthy, balanced and delicious food on board is very important to EMS Shipmanagement. While offering our customers a transparent billing system and flexible rates, we support our galley staff to best meet the diverse needs and tastes of their crew members. For example, we encourage our cooks to participate in various training programs while on board. They even have the opportunity to earn individual certificates. Of course, all meals served on board comply with MLC regulations.

Shipping agency

EMS Shipmanagement offers agency services for vessels calling the German ports of Emden and Leer. Our services include vessel clearance (in and out), customs clearance, lockages and crew changes. We also announce the arrival of vessels according to the National Single Window (NSW) regulations.
